Matt Insley – Managing Investment Director, Aldridge Wealth
Matt joined the Aldridge Wealth team in April 2016 as the Investment Director. Matt’s role is to oversee the activities at Aldridge Wealth and in particular the investment portfolio which includes the whole transaction life cycle from acquisition to monitoring through to sale.
Prior to this he was the Investment Director at Knox D’Arcy Investment Management, an FCA regulated specialist investment management firm focusing on traditional private equity and special situations as well as activist strategies.
Before joining Knox D’Arcy Investment Management, Matt worked at Deloitte where he was a Manager in their Corporate Finance – M&A Department. He specialized in Valuation of both debt and equity and had no sector bias. Prior to working in the Corporate Finance Department, Matt began his career at Deloitte in their Financial Services department where he was predominantly involved in structured transactions.
Matt holds an MSc in International Business from The University of Nottingham where he majored in International Finance. He also read Biochemistry and Biological Chemistry at The University of Nottingham where he gained a BSc (hons).
Matt is a member of the ICAEW and is also a member of the CFA Society of the UK.
Matt is a keen cyclist and swimmer in his spare time, and he is also known to enjoy a good lunch!
James Wallis – Investment Manager, Aldridge Wealth
James joined the Aldridge Wealth team in June 2017 as the Investment Manager. James’ role is primarily focussed on the Private Equity and Venture Capital investments of Aldridge Wealth, including leading on acquisitions to deliver our buy and build strategy as well as broader development of new and existing investments.
Prior to joining Aldridge Wealth, James was an Investment Analyst at Lonrho for 3 years, investing growth capital into businesses across Sub-Saharan Africa and working with portfolio companies to develop their strategy and operations.
James started his career at Deloitte in 2010 within the Transaction Services team, where he was promoted to Manager. He specialised in providing financial due diligence to a range of clients including private equity and corporate investors across a variety of sectors
James holds a 1st class degree in Political Science from University of Birmingham as well being a member of the ICAEW .
He enjoys travelling, running and is a keen supporter of Brighton & Hove Albion football club.
Vivienne Quan – Head of Group Finance, Aldridge Wealth
Vivienne joined Aldridge Wealth in November 2016 as the Group Finance Manager. She oversees all areas of finance and administration including: payroll, pensions, accounts payable and receivables, cash management, general ledger, inventory, banking and reconciliations.
Prior to joining Aldridge Wealth, Vivienne was at GAN Plc, an AIM listed gaming company, as Group Financial Controller where she was single-handedly managed the interim and year-end audit processes including preparation of statutory financial statements and presentation pack within a tight deadline.
Before GAN plc, Vivienne worked at Becrypt Limited, an end point encryption company, as Financial Controller. She was responsible for overhauling the accounting and finance departments through effective management of staff which led to improved quality of information and turnaround time of monthly reports.
Vivienne has extensive experience in industry and major accounting firms. Her portfolio includes online gaming provider, secure mobile solutions provider, specialist multimedia publisher, international residential real estate developer and the world’s biggest selling fashion and health magazine.
She has a degree in Business Studies from City University and is also a member of the ICAEW. She is a keen traveller and enjoys camping, pilates and playing badminton.
Mukami Wainaina – Accounts Manager, Aldridge Wealth
Mukami joined the Aldridge Wealth team as Accounts Manager and Support in December 2017. Previously she worked at Kizuka, an Investment Group set up to manage the deals made by one of the Investors on the show Lions’ Den, the Kenyan equivalent of the UK’s Dragons’ Den, where she managed the investment portfolio and drafted legal documents.
Prior to this she completed a rotational internship at Kaplan & Stratton Advocates, a leading Corporate Law firm in Kenya, where she focused on commercial and real estate matters as well as litigations cases.
Prior to Kaplan & Stratton Advocates, she had interned at Columbus Community Legal Services, a pro bono legal clinic based in Washington D.C., where she spent time giving legal counsel to low income members of the community and dealing with child protection and custody matters.
She holds a LL.M in International Business Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science, with Distinctions in the Law and Practice of International Finance, as well as a LLB (Hons) Law Degree from the University of York.
She is a keen painter and enjoys gym classes and trips to the cinema.
