Matt Insley – Managing Investment Director, Aldridge Wealth

Matt joined the Aldridge Wealth team in April 2016 as the Investment Director. Matt’s role is to oversee the activities at Aldridge Wealth and in particular the investment portfolio which includes the whole transaction life cycle from acquisition to monitoring through to sale.

Prior to this he was the Investment Director at Knox D’Arcy Investment Management, an FCA regulated specialist investment management firm focusing on traditional private equity and special situations as well as activist strategies.

Before joining Knox D’Arcy Investment Management, Matt worked at Deloitte where he was a Manager in their Corporate Finance – M&A Department.  He specialized in Valuation of both debt and equity and had no sector bias. Prior to working in the Corporate Finance Department, Matt began his career at Deloitte in their Financial Services department where he was predominantly involved in structured transactions.

Matt holds an MSc in International Business from The University of Nottingham where he majored in International Finance. He also read Biochemistry and Biological Chemistry at The University of Nottingham where he gained a BSc (hons).

Matt is a member of the ICAEW and is also a member of the CFA Society of the UK. Matt is a keen cyclist and swimmer in his spare time, and he is also known to enjoy a good lunch.


James Wallis – Investment Manager, Aldridge Wealth

James joined the Aldridge Wealth team in June 2017 as the Investment Manager. James’ role is primarily focussed on the Private Equity and Venture Capital investments of Aldridge Wealth, including leading on acquisitions to deliver our buy and build strategy as well as broader development of new and existing investments.

Prior to joining Aldridge Wealth, James was an Investment Analyst at Lonrho for 3 years, investing growth capital into businesses across Sub-Saharan Africa and working with portfolio companies to develop their strategy and operations.

James started his career at Deloitte in 2010 within the Transaction Services team, where he was promoted to Manager.  He specialised in providing financial due diligence to a range of clients including private equity and corporate investors across a variety of sectors

James holds a 1st class degree in Political Science from University of Birmingham as well being a member of the ICAEW .

He enjoys travelling, running and is a keen supporter of Brighton & Hove Albion football club.



Emma Southwell – Head of Group Finance, Aldridge Wealth

Emma joined the Aldridge Wealth team in July 2018 as Head of Group Finance. Emma’s role is primarily to oversee all areas of finance and administration, including payroll, pensions, accounts payable and receivable, cash management, banking and statutory reporting.

Prior to joining Aldridge Wealth Emma was Financial Controller at Upper Street Events, a UK-based consumer events organiser, where she managed a finance team of five and controlled the annual audit process and preparation of the statutory accounts.

Before that Emma was Financial Controller at HouseTrip, a holiday rentals website, until its acquisition by TripAdvisor in 2016. Prior to HouseTrip, Emma spent six years as Chief Accountant at Colefax Group plc, an AIM listed designer and distributor of luxury furnishing fabrics.

Emma is a member of the ICAEW and holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from Nottingham Trent University. She enjoys yoga and walking in her spare time.



Mukami Wainaina – Accounts Manager,  Aldridge Wealth

Mukami joined the Aldridge Wealth team as Accounts Manager in December 2017 and is in the process of completing her ICAEW ACA qualification.

Prior to working for Aldridge Wealth, she achieved a LL.M in International Business Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), with Distinctions in the Law and Practice of International Finance and Cyberlaw, and a LL.B (Hons) Law Degree from the University of York.

During her studies Mukami completed a number of internships. She worked at Kizuka Limited, an Investment Fund set up to manage the deals made by a judge on Lion’s Den, the Kenyan equivalent to Dragon’s Den. Mukami also worked at a leading corporate law firm in Kenya, a DLA Piper relationship firm in Zambia, and a legal clinic in Washington D.C.

She is a keen painter and enjoys fitness, reading and cinema trips.
